Radiant heat is one of the most cost effective ways to heat your home or office. With only 40 to 70 Watts per square meter you can heat nearly every building. Most other heating systems require at least 125 W per square meter, some more than 300.

Which one is the most efficient heating for your application?

E.M.H. Ltd recommends the elegant Marble Heaters for any room where you spend most of your time and Kosywarm heaters for places where you need more instant heat or need the heating only for a shorter period of time.

Why?

Marble Heaters are made from genuine marble and granite stones. The thermal mass of the stone requires to be heated before it can radiate the heat into the room. This may take around 45 minutes. However, after that the stone mass stores the heat for up to 90 minutes. That means that the heaters release heating energy even in times where it doesn’t draw power.

Once the room is heated up to the required temperature, the thermostat will only switch it on about 40 to 60% of the time.

The Kosywarm range is far more instantaneous. Depending on the surface it reaches its radiation point (63 degrees) already after 8 minutes. Note, as there is no thermal mass in these heaters they have no heat storage and cool down much faster. These Kosywarm heaters also need significant lower wattage as they don’t need to heat up that thermal mass.

Therefore the thermostat needs to switch them on more often, but for a shorter time period. So the net running time is calculated at around 70- 80%.
